Outreach Projects

boyshipborder2.pngOur outreach projects are a vital part of the work of the Association. Each project has been developed differently to meet the needs of the geographical area that it covers. Some of our outreach staff directly run toy libraries and other work authority wide to support many projects in a variety of ways. By being directly involved with the management and setting up of toy and leisure libraries and by supporting others to do so, we can relate very closely with issues that other projects face on a day to day basis. We ensure that our toy library projects operate to a high standard and often use them as 'models' to showcase the work of toy libraries to others. Our outreach workers are very much part of our staff team and regulary meet to share ideas and network with each other. To find out more about how the Association can set up an outreach project in your area contact us by filling in our online enquiry form here. Click on the links below to find out more about our current outreach projects.

Bellingham Toy Library
The Association has a Service Level Agreement with the London Borough of Lewisham to offer toy library services within Area 4.

Bellingham Toy Library is based at 24 Randlesdown Road, Bellingham, London SE6 3BT. This is situated on a very busy local road within a short walk of the Area 4 Children's Centre. The toy library is in an attractive shop front, which is a great advantage and strategically placed for reaching local families.

The project is delivered by a full - time Toy Library Manager and two full -time Toy Library Assistants. The project is a Service Provider for the Area 4 Children Centre and works closely with other Service Providers.

The project provides toy loans and stay and play sessions for local children (0-5 years old) and their parents and carers. Services operate on the following days:

• Mondays - Joint toy loan/stay and play with Downham Toy Library (also managed by the Association) in Area 3
• Tuesdays - Toy loan sessions in Bellingham
• Wednesdays & Thursdays - Toy loan/stay and play in Area 4 primary school Children's Centres
• Fridays: Toy loan/stay and play at Sydenham Hill Community Centre
• Saturday morning once a month - toy loan session at Bellingham

These sessions are incredibly popular with parents, carers and children.
