walesteallogosmall.pngThe Wales Assembly Government has funded the Association to run an office in Wales, ensuring our work is relevant to the devolved culture and climate of Wales. The Director and Admin Assistant work out of an office in Cardiff.

Toy Libraries in Wales
With 4.9% of the population of the UK, we have 34 active members in 22 Local Authorities in Wales. With 22 Children's Partnerships (0-10 years) we have received an increasing number of requests for: training, support for funding applications, monitoring and evaluation and individual member requests for help in recruitment, purchasing quality toys plus.

Raising Quality Through Training
Rhondda Cynon Taff, Swansea Partnerships and Merthyr Tydfil have already commissioned training courses from the Association. Other toy libraries have taken advantage of day courses subsidised by an educational trust. Supporting toy libraries to complete Quality Play Matters will be a major part of all training.

One of the first tasks of a new group of Wales-based trainers will be to ensure that changes in legislation and child policy are incorporated into new and existing NATLL training courses.

Wales Development Committee (WDC)
Led by our 2 Council members, the committee meets each term and is currently reviewing the targets and objectives for the association in Wales which will reflect the needs of toy libraries and Children's Partnerships across Wales. As a member, you are eligible to represent your toy library on this group.

Nytiau a Bolltau - Ail Argraffiad
The Wales Development Committee has approved a Welsh Language Plan and the new second edition of "Nuts and Bolts - a practical guide to setting up and running a toy library" is now available.
